Rather an irregular week here at the Duffy house--hope to get back in the swing of things next week.

It's a recurring daydream of mine to disappear into a foreign mountain range and play farmer to a cow, chickens, and a garden.
But then, it always occurs to me that that wouldn't be the best use of my talents, and that I'm supposed to be with people. Then I go to class, listen to the noise, and wish to disappear all over again.
We lost our power for 4 days during a freak October snow storm here in NJ and it was humbling, depressing and COLD. Life is so much better now and I thank God every day for basic things like heat, electricity and gas. I have no illusions about life being "better" back in the Little House days.
A month without heat taught me that me that the conveniences of modern life are actually pretty spiffy. I like me my electricity just fine. No technology wouldn't cure the root of my problems, which is my own inertia.
Now I feel like a baby for complaining about our four days without power Mrs. Darwin!
